Doris Ann Rozell was born April 8, 1954, in Winfield, Alabama. She was raised by her loving parents Ruby Hollis and the late James Rozell, with five sisters Brenda Rozell (WA), Ronda Fletcher (CA), Vanessa Love (deceased), Valencia Butts (GA), and Patricia Thomas-Williams (deceased). Spending most of her life in her hometown of Sacramento, California, growing up in the large and close-knit Hollis, Wallace, Swanigan family filled with aunts, uncles, a host of cousins, and close friends. Living an active childhood, she shared fond memories of time spent at the Seavey Circle teen center and playing softball.
It was her nature to selflessly express unconditional love to all.Her family is the first to vouch for this. However, it was exhibited to the Sacramento and Tacoma communitiesthroughout her career as a Social Worker before retiring from The University of Washington Parent-Child and Assistance program. To Doris, no one was a stranger. Her ability to connect with people is unparalleled.
She was blessed to have three daughters, Christel (husband;Timothy Person), Lisa, LaShonda, and eight grandchildren Diamond, Andrew, Lashaya, Timothy II, Nevaeh, Gianni, Tayah,and Anniyah, from her marriages to Michael Morris and the late Samuel Berry.
Doris transitioned to everlasting peace with the Lord on March 31, 2021.
