Janet Robbins House, 73, passed away on October 1, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Janet was born on January 21, 1947 to the late Ashley Ervin Robbins and Hildred Bullock Robbins. She spent her childhood on the family farm in the Wilbanks Community of Wilson County. After graduating high school from Saratoga, she attended Louisburg College where she studied accounting.
Upon her marriage to David Cooper House they made their home first in Raleigh and later settled in Knightdale to raise their family. Janet was a devoted wife and mother that enjoyed a successful career while never missing her children's many practices, recitals and school events. Once retired, David and Janet moved to Nashville where they continued to live until her death.
Janet's creative passion was quilting, knitting, crocheting and sewing. Her vibrant quilts of all shapes and sizes will be cherished for generations to come in the House, Robbins and Noble families. She also shared her gift with hundreds by making items for hospitals, nursing homes and schools across the state.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of fifty-one years, David Cooper House, daughter Tammie House Noble and husband Chris of Snow Hill, son Christopher David House and wife Melissa of Raleigh, grandchildren Graham Corbin House and Marshall Hugh House, step-grandchildren, Dawson Hardy Noble and Leah Hunter Noble, brother, Ashley Ervin Robbins, Jr. and wife Joan of Wilson and nephews, Robb Robbins and David Robbins.
The family greatly appreciates the loyalty of family member, The Reverend Doctor Walter Cooper for his visits and phone calls throughout this journey.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
