Mrs. Katherine J. (Katie) Andrews, age 99, of Hapeville, died peacefully at home on April 22, 1997. She was the widow of Mr. Herman Andrews.
Mrs. Andrews was born in Jones County, GA, the oldest of 9 children of Japeth Jackson and Dora Jackson.
Preceding her in death were 5 brothers, Arthur P. Jackson, Watson B. Jackson, W. Edward Jackson, T. Perry Jackson, Howard M. Jackson, Sr. and Sister, Rosa O'Neal.
Surviving are Daughter, Rita Stearns and Son-in-Law, Kenneth Stearns of Hapeville; a special Brother, F. Ridley Jackson and a special Sister-in-law, Emma Jackson of Hapeville; Sister, Martha Stahlkuppe of Atlanta; Grandchildren, Baker Stearns of Tyrone, Tim Stearns of Atlanta, Kathy Thomas of Atlanta; 2 Great Grandchildren and numerous Nieces, Nephews and other family and friends.
She was a member of Bethany Primitive Baptist Church, the Hapeville Garden Club and was a Charter Member of the Hapeville Historical Society.
Funeral Service 11 AM, Thursday, April 24th in the Chapel of Howard L. Carmichael & Sons, East Point. Elder Gus Harter and Rev. Martin Coile officiating. Interment, College Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home 6:00-8:30 PM, Wednesday. Howard L Carmichael & Sons, East Point.
