Ancle E. Cunagin was born March 28, 1924 in Jackson County and departed this life Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Berea, being 85 years of age. He was the son of the late Matt & Maude (Harris) Cunagin.
Ancle is survived by his loving wife of sixty-seven years: Floella Cunagin of McKee; by one son: Van Cunagin and his wife Vivian of Harrodsburg and by one son-in-law: Oscar Wilson of McKee. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Dwight Cunagin of McKee; Johnny Cunagin of Dayton, OH; Allie Campbell of Berea and Jeannie Meridith of Dayton, OH. Ancle was blessed with ten grandchildren and by a host of great-grandchildren
In addition to his parents, Ancle was also preceded in death by two children: Stacey Cunagin and Veda Wilson; by one grandson: Ancle Paul Wilson; by one brother: Hansford Cunagin and by five sisters: Eva Parker, Mollie Byrd, Eula Robinson, Gwendolyn Phillips and Marie Parker
Ancle was a member of the Letter Box Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II.
Funeral service was held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Garland Gabbard officiating. Burial followed in the Harris Cemetery. Pallbearers were Josh Wells, Shane Woods, Ronald Witt, Wade Parker, Scottie Tussey, Wendell Bert Summers, Bert Summers & Oscar Wilson Jr. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.lakesfuneralhomemckee.com
