He was married abt 1780-82 to Mary Elizabeth George. His parents were David & Elizabeth Banks. He & Mary Elizabeth George (1770-1830) had 6 children: William, George W., Joseph Newton, William Wiseman, Sarah, & one more Banks. See page 121 of Frances Banks Stories' book for more possible children. Drury served in the Revolutionary War in 1720 from Chatham Co,NC. He deeded his land in Fayette Co,GA to son Joseph Newton Banks,Sr in 1832. Information states Joseph Newton Banks, Sr & his wife Nancy Draper Banks are buried at Prospect Methodist Church Cemetery north of Inman, GA in what was Henry Co, then Fayette Co, & now Clayton Co. Joseph Newton Banks,Jr & his wife Nancy Missouri Mitchell are buried at Banks Family Cemetery, Fayette Co, GA.
