Maxine E. Bohlken, 65, of Lebanon, died on Saturday, August 23, of natural causes, at her home.

No services are planned at this time. Burial will take place at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Lebanon. Huston-Jost Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

She was born April 5, 1938, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, the daughter of Herman and Ruth (VanNess) Harris. She came to Lebanon in 1960. She purchased the Broiler, a former Lebanon restaurant, in 1967.

On Dec. 4, 1970, she married John Bohlken in Silverton. The Bohlkens worked together at the restaurant until 1976, when they sold it. She worked with John in his cabinet business, Bohlken Wood Work, both in Sisters and Lebanon.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Elks Club. She was baptized a member of the First Christian Church while living in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Mrs. Bohlken is survived by her husband, John Bohlken of Lebanon; children LaLona McCready of Lebanon, Lonnie Benham of Springfield, and Shelley Bohlken of Eugene; sisters Edith Wallace of Washington and Marlene Roberts of Idaho; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Son Mike Bohlken died before her.
