Mrs. Nora Margaret Spivey Hughes Lewis, age 81, of Hazlehurst, died Friday, March 26, 2021 at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

Mrs. Lewis was born December 15, 1939 in Jeff Davis County. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willard Valdice Hughes, Joel W. Spivey and Cora Turner Spivey, brothers and sisters, Joel Wendell Spivey, Velma Spivey Bardwell, Maxine Spivey Lambert, Cladys Spivey Cumbee. She was formerly employed with Bowens Drug.

Survivors include sons, Layton Hughes (Judy) of Hazlehurst, Donald Hughes of Wrightsville, Denny Hughes of Hazlehurst and Jeffrey Bryant of Hazlehurst; daughter, Deborah Hughes Lee of Altoona FL; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at 11:00 at Palms Memorial Garden with Rev. Deek Dubberly officiating.

The family will greet friends from 9:00 until 10:30 Wednesday at the funeral home.
Active Pallbearers will be David Cumbee, Doug Murphy, Ted Hamm and Adam William.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Lewis family and Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to wear a mask and follow the social distancing set by our local health district and the CDC.
