BOGALUSA - Roberta Wood, age 83, a resident of Greenwell Springs, La. died Monday, Jan. 16 in Memorial Medical Center, Jackson, Miss. A native of Bogalusa, she was a long-time member of Superior Avenue Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Beverly (Rudy) Pacas of Greenwell Springs, Dianne (Charles) Costella of Violet, La. and Fabia (Russell) Kassin of Mize, Miss.; a son, Danny (Janet) Wood of Omaha, Neb.; two brothers, Joseph (Dorothy) Cupstid of Vicksburg, Miss. and William Cupstid of Grand Bay, Ala.; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Cupstid of Niceville, Fla., and Beth Cupstid of Vicksburg; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two special family members, Mary S. Wood of Omaha, Neb. and Robert H. McNeese of Baton Rouge, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick Daniel Wood Jr.; her parents, Walter and Etta Cupstid; a son, David Eugene Wood; a grandson, Robert H. "Bobby" McNeese Jr.; seven brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 23, at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Visitation will also be held Friday from 8 a.m until time for the funeral service in the chapel at 12:30 p.m.
The Rev. Johnathan Russell of First Baptist Church, Mize, Miss., will officiate, with interment following in the McGehee Cemetery.
