Mr. Ard was born in Brewton, AL and had been a resident of Pensacola before returning to live in Repton about fifty years ago. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry for a number of years, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #535 in Repton; and was of the Holiness faith. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He was wonderful family man, a good father, and was a hero to his children.
He was preceded in death by grandsons, Jason Ard and Larry Fuqua; a son-in-law, Tommy Still; and his siblings, J. C. Ard, Alton Ard, Woodrow Ard, Robert Ard, Gladys Barlow, Bessie Pearson, Sally Forrest, and Willie Jackson Ard.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Craver's Funeral Home . Interment will follow in Glory Hill Holiness Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Craver's Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until Service time at 11:00 A.M.
