EDWARD WHITE (H.C. 1712), of Brookline and Hannah Wiswall, of Dorchester, a daughter of Oliver Wiswall and Sarah Baker, were married in 1718.

Some notes: Parents of Ann White Wesson (born 1742, wife of Col. James Wesson) and grandparents of Sarah Wesson Spurr (wife of Eliphalet Spurr). Parents also of Hannah White Ackers. Belcher Hancock (husband of Major Edward White's granddaughter Ann Susan Ackers Hancock) is not attached to his correct parents on Find A Grave - note ages! - The correct Belcher Hancock was born in 1754 and died in 1813. Belcher Hancock was a cousin of John Hancock, signer of the Declaration of Independence. The Russell ancestors of Belcher Hancock married with Bridge and Danforth family, same as did the Brewer family of Major Edward White's daughter Susanna White Brewer and her descendants. The interwoven family lines are thus reflected again here in this group. The Hancock family, including John Hancock himself, would have been known to Major Edward White and his family. They were friends, cousins, and colleagues in Boston and Brookline society.

Major Edward White (1693 - 1769)
Edward White, the only son of Susanna Cogswell and Benjamin White. Graduate of Harvard College, class of 1712. Married Hannah Wiswall (Wiswell, other spelling variations), daughter of Oliver and Sarah Baker Wiswall of Dorchester. Major Edward White was known as "the Honorable", as "Captain", and later as Major Edward White. He served in government also . His sister Ann White Boylston was the wife of Peter Boylston, mother of Susanna Boylston Adams, and the grandmother of President John Adams.

Ann White Boylston (see Famous Kin link below) is the sister of Major Edward White who married Hannah Wiswall. The relationships shown are the same for both Edward and Ann, because these are through the WHITE FAMILY only - except that Ann's children and direct descendants are nieces and nephews to Major Edward White, and cousins to Major Edward's children Susanna White Brewer and Captain Benjamin White.
