Vera L. Seals Thompson, 85, of Route 1, Elizabeth (Rockport area), W.Va., passed away March 29, 2007, at her home.
She was born at Rockport, a daughter of the late Aaron David and Maude Mae Dorst Seals. Vera was a homemaker and member of the Mt. Hope Church.
Surviving is her husband of 68 years, William H. Thompson; five sons, Lawrence Thompson Sr., Darrel Thompson and William Thompson Jr. (Bill) of Elizabeth, Harlin Thompson of Ravenswood and Kenneth Thompson of Mineral Wells; two daughters, Blenda Deem of Indiana and Wanda Caltrider of Mineral Wells; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Beck of Kent, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Wayne Thompson; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Hale Thompson; three brothers, Glen, Eldo and Eugene Seals; and a sister, Sylvia Curtis.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg, with her son-in-law, the Rev. David Deem officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
