Lois Dixie McClellan Allen died October 26, 2007 surrounded by her family. She was born May 22, 1933 in Spanish Fork, Utah.

Dixie graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Elementary Education; and married Philo Heaton Allen December 19, 1958 in the LDS Manti Temple. Together they raised six children, Phil (Judy), Steven (Lori), Paul (Lori), Alinda Olsen (Richard), Gayleen Hapgood, and Sherri Birdsall (Alan). Dixie was preceded in death by her parents (Clyde Earl McClellan and Freda Mae Stewart), husband, and one grandson (Joshua Hapgood). She is survived by her children, 26 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Dixie was a loving and faith-filled wife and mother. Her love for the Lord and for others blessed the lives of all she met.

Dixie served in her church as a powerful teacher of youth and adults. She taught with love, faith, and patience, and used her knowledge to bless her children and grandchildren alike. An avid artist, Dixie created beautiful oil and water paintings. Most of these were sacred in nature, and shared the love she had for her Savior. Despite being paralyzed for the last 14 years of her life, she chose to find joy in every good and beautiful thing and was deeply grateful for every blessing large or small. Her legacy of faith and endurance will live on and bless her posterity throughout eternity.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2007, 10 a.m. at the Taylorsville 19th Ward Chapel (2030 W. Chateau Avenue, 5225 S). Friends and family may call Monday, October 29 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street and Tuesday from 8:30-9:45 a.m. at the church.
Internment will be in the Murray City Cemetery.
