News reached here Sunday morning that Moses Barker had been killed by a passing train at Hillard. Mr. Barker was driving a truck and watching a freight train which was near, kept him from seeing the passenger train, until his truck as on the track. He jumped from the truck but not in time to save his life. Mr. Barker is the son of M.M. Barker, who has been deceased for about 14 years. Moses Barker was born in Bradford County, September 21, 1905. He was 19 years old at the time of his death. He was noted for his industrious habits and kind disposition. The news of his death was quite a shock to the community. He leaves to mourn his loss, besides a large circle of friends, a mother Mrs. Luvenia Barker and four sisters, Maggie, Crecie, Ollie and Amelia BARKER. The bereaved ones have sympathy of the whole community. The funeral services were conducted by Bro. Taylor pastor of the First Christian Church here. The remains were interred in Santa Fe Cemetery.
