Glenver C. Stewart

Glenver Calvin Stewart, 79, of Parkersburg went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at the Marietta Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was born Jan. 22, 1928, in Jackson County, a son of the late Everett Elijah and Mary Iona Parsons Stewart.

Glenver retired from A.B.C. Liquor Co. in Orlando, Fla., where he was a mechanic for several years. He attended the Faith Harvest Church in Coolville and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Hammond Archer Stewart; three daughters, Joyce Brunty of Winter Springs, Fla., JoEllen Brogan of Alum Creek, W.Va., and Melody Futrell of Harriman, Tenn.; one son, Terry Lee Archer of Parkersburg; one brother, Raymond Stewart of Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Cora Bourgeois of Ripley; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Carl Lee Young; three brothers, Harvey Gandee, Oley Stewart and Vernon Stewart; one sister, Genevee Anderson; and one grandson, Keith Young.

Funeral services for Glenver will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg, with Pastor Bernard (Dobbie) Thrash officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
