Timothy Mark Ashmann
September 17, 1954 - March 23, 2021

Timothy Mark Ashmann, child of God, was released from a long battle with Parkinson's disease on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 and now rests in the arms of his Savior. Tim was the cherished husband of Debbie, loving father to Amanda and Angela, beloved papa to Julia, Maxwell, Melissa and Aaron, and faithful friend to many. He was born on September 17, 1954, to Albert and Joyce (Pohl) Ashmann and grew up on a farm near Seymour with his sister, Gerre. Tim attended a one-room school until the 4th grade then was bussed into Seymour. He graduated from Seymour High School in 1972 and worked for Seymour Canning Company until he turned 18. At that time, Tim began his swing shift career on the paper machines at Fort Howard and worked there for nearly 35 years. He represented a papermaker in Wisconsin Public Television's Wisconsin Hometown Stories-Green Bay filmed and broadcast around the state in 2007.

In the summer of 1974, Tim and Debbie (Zepnick), met, fell in love, and married on June 21, 1975, one of the hottest days of the summer and during haying. Together they shared more than 45 years of joys, struggles, many laughs, and a few tears. Their love story ended too soon! The journey included numerous trips around the U.S. to visit historic places, especially Civil War battlefields, the Smokey Mountains, California, Hawaii, Arizona for spring training, and trips to Alabama and Mexico for beach time. One of the last memories together was a trip to the Holy Land in 2012. The "fun couple" enjoyed entertaining and planning events with friends; Gourmet club, Superbowl parties, bus trips to Brewer games, playing cards, Andy Griffith marathons, Christmas caroling, New Year's Eve parties, and Bible studies. Besides his family, Tim's passions were Brewer games, the Packers, golfing, studying Civil War history, gourmet cooking and telling a good story.

Tim delighted in his daughters who were both daddy's girls. He shared his love for baseball with them, coaching their softball teams for many years. He loved attending their sporting and school events. During his illness, each daughter relished special bonding time with dad. Amanda watched countless baseball games with him at Miller Park and on TV. Angela was his daily caretaker for a year before he moved to assisted living. He adores his grandchildren who also brought him much joy.

Tim had several aliases: General Brooke at Heritage Hill, Andy with his favorite Barney, a drug runner (for Unity Hospice) and "Captain Compassion." His life was full of family, friends, and community service.

Tim retired at 50 from Georgia Pacific. For the next 10 years he was "Captain Compassion" ministering to those in need at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. The Captain loved helping everyone. This included the food pantry, Stephen Ministry, and visiting new members. He especially loved mentoring the vicars of Pilgrim, becoming close friends with many. He and Debbie traveled to visit them after they became pastors.

Tim is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, Amanda and Angela; grandchildren, Julia, Maxwell, Melissa, Aaron; a sister, Gerre Revels; a niece, Heather Trost (Bill), daughter Maddie; a nephew, Patrick Revels; aunts, Margaret Ashmann and Vera Ashman; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and many friends.

The family would like to thank all who were supportive during the many years of Tim's illness. A special thanks to the loving staff of Unity Hospice who so gently cared for Tim at the Meng Residence until his death. They were mercy angels! Memorials may be sent to Pilgrim Lutheran Church Compassionate Care Ministries or Unity Hospice.

A time of visitation will be held at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Dr., on Thursday, April 8, from 2 to 5 p.m. followed by a Celebration of the Resurrection service at 5 p.m. with Rev. Scott Malme officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the Facebook page of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com, or cards may be sent to Blaney Funeral Home to the attention of Tim Ashmann's family, and they will be forwarded.

Tim died way too early and those left behind will miss him dearly.

"Well done though, good and faithful servant." Enjoy your heavenly reward!
