Peter was the son of Adam Warner and Elizabeth (Troxel) Warner. He married Margaret Myers in about 1851. In the 1850 U.S. Census, Peter was living with his parents and siblings in Lake, Stark, OH. By the 1860 U.S.Census, he was married to Margaret, had 5 children, and was still living in Lake, Stark, OH. They were living in Bethel, Branch, MI with 4 more children in the 1880 U.S. Census. Peter was living as a widow with his daughter Stella and son-in-law Albert Sours in Bethel, Branch, MI in the 1900 U.S. Census.

Peter's death certificate says that he was 74 years and 5 months old when he died. This would give a birth date of May 1, 1826. The birth month is not readable on his death certificate. However it looks like the day is the 3rd. According to the 1900 U.S. Census, Peter was born in May 1826.
