Mrs. Harriett L. Harris, 81, of Argenta, died at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the Macon County home, leaving 48 direct descendants.
She was a native of Cook's Mills, Ill., and was born Feb. 24, 1868, a daughter of Drewery and Cynthia Asenath Akers.
She was married on Dec. 22, 1890 to Rease Elless, who died in 1920, and in 1928 to E. L. Harris, who died in 1944.
She leaves six children, Mrs. C. L. Bruner and Marion Elless of Decatur; A. A. Elless of Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Sarah Clement of Hazen, Ark.; Mrs. Artie Wallace of West Memphis, Ark.; and Walter Elless of Argenta. Two children preceded her in death.
There are also five brothers and a sister, 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Argenta Methodist Church, with burial in Friends Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the Heinle Funeral home in Argenta, after 2 p.m. today.
