Melvin was born March 5, 1959 in Tulsa, OK, to Jack and Flora Ozel (Welch) Blue. He passed away March 8, 2021 in Stillwater, OK.
Melvin graduated from McLain High School in 1977. He was a fitter and layout man for Harsco Air Coolers. He enjoyed reading the Bible and helping people. Melvin was always there for everyone. His favorite moments were being with his family and most of all, Melvin loved his children and grandchildren. We were truly blessed to have him.
He is survived by his son, Melvin D. Blue; grandson, “Grandman”, Drake Blue; granddaughter, Makala Clayton; brother, Frank Blue; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Blue; brothers, Jack Blue Sr., and Clyde Blue; nephew, John Blue; parents, Jack and Flora Blue; uncle, Jim Blue; and many more family and friends he loved dearly.
Funeral services for Melvin Eugene Blue, 62, of Ochelata, OK, were held Friday, March 12, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Pastor Jeff Wickham officiated, and burial was in A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy, OK. Casket bearers were Mike Oakley, Chris Blue, Josh Bennett, Marvin Barahona, Justin Ragsdale, and Randy Mendenhall. Honorary Casket bearers were Frank Blue, Makala Clayton, Melvin D. Blue, Jack Blue, Jr., Drake Blue, and Levi Blue.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
