Cynthia was daughter to Moon & Neen Alexander. She was raised by Moon's sister Louise & Henry Harper. She went to school in Leggett and attended Livingston High School graduating in 1968. Her childhood friend was Sharon Anderson. Cynthia worked at the Fain Theater with Howard Smith whom she married in July 1968. They moved to Beaumont where Howard was attending Lamar University. In 1970 their first child was born, Thomas Howard Smith. In 1971 their second child was born, John Michael Smith, and in 1979 their third child was born, Emily Louise Smith. In 1984 Cynthia went to work for the US Postal Service. In 2002 she married Kenneth Moye. In 2004, she and Kenneth moved from Beaumont to Livingston where she could care for her mother Christine. She continued working for the Postal Service with a transfer to Livingston. In 2015 she retired with 27 years service and enjoyed her time afterwards going to church, gardening, and working in the concession trailer she and Kenneth had. In February 2021 she had a major stroke and was bed ridden, unable to eat or drink anything, and had difficulty speaking. Complications from the stroke caused her to develop pneumonia. While she was in the ICU at Memorial Hermann in Humble she contracted Covid. She passed away peacefully on March 16, 2021 with her daughter Emily present. The following day, Kenneth passed away also from Covid. She believed in working hard and worshiping the Lord. I assumed caretaking of the land which came from the parents of Emma Young Alexander (wife of Tom Alexander and father of James W Alexander SR). She is survived by her 3 children, 8 grand children, & 3 great grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Buddy, sister Shirley, Aunt Lou & Uncle Henry, as well as her grand parents (grandma & grandpa Alexander and mem maw & pap paw Bracewell).
