At the time of William Lee Moore's marriage to Lena Piercy he was working for the L & N Railroad in Etowah, Tenn. To this union four children were born: James William Moore, Sept. 16, 1915, in Etowah, Tenn.; Vivian and Vera, twins, June 21, 1917, in Etowah, Tenn.; Thomas Woodrow July 19, 1918, in Cherokee County.
Early in 1918 the family moved back to Cherokee County on account of the declining health of Lee. He passed away Sept. 22, 1919, in Andrews, NC, and was buried at the Valleytown Cemetery.
