Fredrick Beaty Jr.

Fredrick W. Beaty Jr., 73, of Vienna died Aug. 29, 2006, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born at Belpre, a son of the late Fredrick W. and Ida Mae Fluharty Beaty. Mr. Beaty and his wife owned and operated Roseland Grocery on 36th Street for 30 years.

He had attended Marietta College, was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and attended Stout Memorial United Methodist Church for many years. He was also a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge. He especially enjoyed camping.

Mr. Beaty is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Fredrick III (Rick) and Michele, Scott and Janie, all of Parkersburg and Patrick and Amy of Vienna; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Michael Raber and Jill and Joseph Ross, all of Parkersburg; one brother and his wife, Albert and Betty Beaty of Lewisburg; 11 grandchildren, Tia Williamson, Heather Beaty, Jacob Raber, Justin Raber, Tara Ross, Courtney Ross, Jessica Beaty, Samantha Beaty, Codey Roney, Ashley Roney and Joshua Roney; two great-granddaughters, Alexandria Raber and Olivia Raber; brother-in-law, Robert Biggs and his wife, Pauline, of Mooresville, N.C.; special friends, Don and Helen Hoffman of Parkersburg; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Jane Biggs Beaty.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Stout Memorial United Methodist Church with the Revs. Scott Sears and Harold Custer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Following the memorial service, the co-mingled ashes of Fredrick and Charlene will be interred in Sunset Memory Gardens.

Memorials in Fredrick's honor may be made to St. Joseph's Hospital, Open Heart Program, 600 18th Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101.

The Vaughan Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
