His service as an officer is confirmed by a Kentucky Land office Military Warrant # 1177 that was issued to him on April 16, 1783 for 600 acres. He may also filed a Military Land Warrant for his father in law William Henshaw # 1871 on November 7, 1783 for 600 acres.
