Marie (she didn’t care for the name, Ada, even though it was a tribute to her grandmother, Ada Bell Smith Liles) was the daughter of William S. Carpenter and Annie Bell Liles. She was the only sister to William “Sumner” Carpenter and Leroy Carpenter, both deceased.
Marie graduated from Walnut High School in Vance, MS in 1950.
Visitation will be at 9 – 10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home and the service will follow in the chapel at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West.
