John Peter Kommes

John Kommes, Le Mars, died Wednesday, August 20 at Sacred Heart hospital, following a three week sickness.
Born in Luxemberg, Germany, September 24, 1874, Mr. Kommes came to the US at the age of 10 years. He farmed near Oyens until eleven years ago, then retired and moved to Le Mars. Anna Tharnish and John Kommes were married February 13, 1901 at Exira, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held 9 o'clock Saturday, August 23 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Le Mars, with burial in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Oyens. Msgr. J. D. Fisch will officiate. Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home in charge.
Survivors include; two sons, Albert and Francis of Oyens, a daughter, Margaret at home. Also 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandsons, and a brother Frank of Exira, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna, a son in infancy and two brothers.
Friends may call at the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home until service.
Mr. Kommes was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
