Shirley L. Mallette, 81, of Bloomington passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Gentry Park Senior Living.
She was born on January 12,1940 in Shoals, Indiana the daughter of Lester. and Vera D. (Killion) Carrico. She attended Bloomfield High School. Shirley married Rex Calvin Mallette on September 12, 1956 they were happily married 56 years.
She was a member of the McDole Baptist Church, Shirley worked for RCA for over 30 years before retiring. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, traveling with her husband, spending time with her family, she was a homemaker and took great pride in keeping her house clean and her family well taken care of, she will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Mallette of Bloomington; her sons, Greg Mallette of Bloomington; Jeff Mallette of Bloomington; her granddaughter, Angela (Ricky) Denton of Nashville; four great grandchildren, Gavin, Aubree, Alyssa and Bryce; and one great great granddaughter, Zoey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her two brothers, Junior Killion and Milton Baker.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the Allen Funeral Home 4155 S. Old St Rd 37 Bloomington, Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to service time Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the funeral home.
Memorial contribution may be made to the Monroe County Humane Society.
