Daughter of Jesse Boots and Sarah Ann Thornburgh Boots. Wife of John M. Hagler, Sr.

The Warren Tribune, Friday, Jan. 22, 1904

Mrs. D. Palmer, Sr.

After many weeks of intense suffering from a complication of stomach trouble and other diseases, Mrs. Daniel Palmer Sr. died at her home on Second street Sunday evening. Her death was not unexpected, as her condition for several days had been such that her friends entertained no hopes of her recovery.

Marietta M., daughter of Jesse and Sarah Ann Boots, was born in Green county, Ohio, May 26, 1838. She grew to womanhood in her native county. While yet a girl she united with the German Reformed church and throughout her life exemplified the teaching of the Master. She aspired not to great things but was content to perform the little acts of kindness which shine best in the home.

She was married May 24, 1855 to John Milton Hagler also of Green county, Ohio. To them were born seven children of whom five are living.

In 1863, Mr. and Mrs. Hagler moved from Ohio to Indiana and ? on a farm in this county they continued to reside until Mr. Hagler's death which occurred ? 28, 1877. After that the widow moved to Warren, since resided. She was married October 27, 1883, to Dr. Daniel Palmer who survives her.

Short funeral services were held from the house Tuesday afternoon, Rev. J.E. Etter being in charge. The burial was in the Masonic cemetery.
