Elizabeth Ann (Wall) Chowning, 83, of Winchester passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Golden Living Center in Muncie.

She was born July 27, 1937 to Albert Wall and Leotha (DeCamp) Wall Corbin in Dunkirk. She attended Dunkirk High School, but one of her proudest moments was receiving her GED from Jay County High School in 1983.

She began working at a young age at the Jay Garment in Portland. She worked there for many years, leaving to raise her three children. When they were grown, she worked at the Winchester Wal-Mart in the Snack Bar. She made many lifelong friends from her coworkers and customers. Ann enjoyed sewing, crocheting and reading, especially Debbie Macomber.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Jerry "Jake" Chowning, brother Charles Wall and sister Betty Stipp.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children Mike (Karen) Chowning, Julie (Dan) Shaffer and Dianna (Michael) Woodbury, grandchildren Bryan (Chelsie) Chowning, Lyndsay (Matthew) Bates, Michael Norman, Nathan Ansberry, Alex Shaffer and Hannah Shaffer, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Elizabeth's life will be at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Pastor Jeff Pfohl officiating. Burial will follow at the Saratoga Cemetery
