Funeral services for Essie Dowden, 99, of Kisatchie, LA were held Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the Kisatchie Baptist Church, Rev. Ronnie Tally officiating. Burial followed in the New Kisatchie Cemetery.
Essie, the daughter of Pete and Effie Desadier, was born February 8, 1915 in Flora, LA. She passed away Friday, April 11th at her residence in Kisatchie.
Ms. Essie truly loved spending time with her family and friends. She was longtime member of the Kisatchie Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dave Dowden, her daughter, Opal Tally and a Great Grandson, David H. Tally.
She is survived by two sons both of Orange, TX; One Sister of Zwolle, LA; Seven Grandchildren; Twelve Great Grandchildren and numerous Great Great Grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
