He was the son of Andrew and Martha (Gould) Fletcher. Husband of Carrie D. Hill. They wed in Sunderland, VT, on Sept. 14, 1887.

He operated the town of Westfords largest granite quarry and a successful construction concern, he served in the state senate from 1901-1903, performed duties as delegate to the 1916 Republican National convention, and served in the Massachusetts General Court. He was a graduate of Westford Academy.
