Obituary for Mr. Noel F. Brown Jr.
Mr. Noel F. Brown Jr
April 24, 1947-March 11, 2021

Mr. Noel F. Brown Jr., 73 of Sylvester, died on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital after a brave battle with cancer. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Unity Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Mt. Enon Cemetery in Mitchell County. The Rev. T Brown, Rev. B J. Brown, and Rev. D Wright will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Banks Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown was born on April 24, 1947 in Camilla, Georgia to Noel F. Brown, Sr. and Geneva Johnson Brown. He moved to Worth County with his family in the early 1960’s and graduated from Worth County High School in 1965. He served in Stuttgart, Germany for the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. He married the love of his life, Virginia Dian Hullett, in 1969. Their marriage was a beautiful testament of love and devotion for more than 51 years. God blessed them with 3 children and a strong, loving family.
Mr. Brown was a servant of the Lord and impacted countless lives as a Royal Ambassadors leader, deacon, Sunday school teacher, and choir member. He challenged and encouraged his family, friends, and all that he had the privilege of serving to search their hearts, be certain of their salvation, and truly become a living testimony of God’s love. He was an active and faithful member of Pine Forest Baptist Church in TyTy.
Mr. Brown was a devoted husband, loving father, doting Papa, and caring son and big brother. He retired as a production planner from Proctor & Gamble, owner of Brown’s Interiors, and flooring specialist at Short and Paulk. No matter his role, people were drawn to his kindness, compassion, and Christ-likeness. He always found a way to help others by either welcoming them into his home, providing soup for the less fortunate, or giving of his time and influence as a coach.
Mr. Brown will be greatly missed but lovingly remembered by his family and countless friends. He is survived by his wife, Dian; daughters, Shannon Goff (Allen), Brandi Fletcher (Marcus); son, Trey Brown (Sheena); 8 grandchildren, one great grandchild, many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He is also survived by his brothers, Boyd R. Brown (Paula) of Sylvester, and Rev. Bobby Joe Brown (Audrey) of Bridgeboro; sisters, Deanna Boaz (Earl) of Belle Chasse, Judy Klinger (Bryan) of Warner Robins and Vicky McDonald (Marvin) of Doerun; sister-in-laws, Connie Will of Panama City Beach and Jeanie Bryan of Omega.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Adron N. Jenkins.
For those preferring, donations can be made to Pine Forest Baptist Church, PO Box 83, Sylvester, GA 31791 in memory of Noel Brown, Jr.
