Funeral services for Gwendolyn Kay Davis Ivey will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 17, 2017 in the Dixie Baptist Church of Sieper with Reverend Jerry Johnson and Reverend Danny George officiating. Committal service will follow in the Burns Cemetery under the directions of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Gwen, 68, of Sieper, entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 13, 2017 in her residence. She was born January 21, 1949 in Springhill, Louisiana to the union of O.K. Davis and Juanita Beavers Davis. She was a graduate of Springhill High School and Northwestern State University where she received her nursing degree. Gwen worked as a nurse for many years before becoming a nursing instructor at Louisiana Technical College. She retired from teaching in order to dedicate her time to her grandchildren and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, O.K. and Juanita Davis; and her husband of 18 years, Paul Glenn Ivey.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are: two sons, T.J. Ivey of Shreveport and Shawn (Kim) Ivey of West Monroe; one daughter, Megan Ivey (Luke) Morrison of Boyce; three brothers, Kenneth (Donna) Davis of Springhill, Paul (Vickie) Davis of Friendswood, Texas, and Tommy (Betty) Davis of Taylor, Arkansas; one sister, Nancy Davis (Trey) Moody of Springhill; four grandchildren, Weston, Corissa, Liam, and Ian; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers to serve will be Jake Ivey, Heath Ivey, Shawn Ivey, Chris Ridge, Toby Davis, and Alfred Chandler.

Visitation will be held at Dixie Baptist Church in Sieper on Sunday, April 16, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., then on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 8 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in the church.
