Mrs. Alma Stiles Townsend, a resident of Pomona Valley for more than 60 years, died in a local sanitarium at 3:30 a.m. today after a long period of failing health.
Mrs. Townsend was born May 15, 1877, in Augusta, Kan. She came to Pomona in 1900 from Garden Grove, Iowa.
She is survived by two brothers, Hugh W. Stiles of La Verne and Maurice Stiles of Pomona, and a sister, Mrs. H. T. Gilstrap of Long Beach.
Private funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon in Todd Memorial South Chapel.
