Dorothy Ann Yaws was born June 16, 1936 in Oakwood, Texas to Whyle & Bettie (Jennings) McNight. She had lived in Normangee the past forty-nine years and was a member of First Baptist Church, Flynn, Texas. Dorothy was a devoted homemaker her entire life and liked playing bingo, sewing and watching soap operas. She especially enjoyed travelling when she was able. A fond memory held by Dorothy was when she visited the Grand Canyon.
Dorothy passed away March 9, 2021 in Bryan, Texas. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; brothers, Bob & Joe Scott and daughter, Kathy Horne. Surviving family members are husband, Donald Yaws, Sr. of Normangee; children, Donna Baker of Bryan, Mary (Dave) Gibson of Normangee, Brenda (Keith) Swim of College Station, Debbie Yaws of Bryan and Donald Yaws, Jr.; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters.
