June 18, 1901

Mr Ammon Bitikofer,

I am sorry to tell you Lewis is dead. He died 2 oclock. This evening he seamed (sic) to be better until about noon today. He got up this morning and eat his breakfast and he eat a good deal of dinner and just went off all of a sudden he died very easy. We are going to bury him to morrow at the Mound grave yard he wanted to be buried here where Cora could take care of his grave. Tell Uncle Henry's folks as soon as possible.
