Marilyn Dean Anderson, 81, of Richmond, died Monday, March 8, 2021 at Shirkey Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Marilyn was born on April 20, 1939 in Carrollton the daughter of Orville and Gladys (Miles) Hawkins. She was united in marriage to Ira Jr. Anderson of Richmond in March of 1986; he survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: two daughters, Tracy (Charles) Robertson of Richmond and Donna (Tom) Liles of Richmond, one stepson, Rev. Jr. (Vicky) Anderson, II of Hardin, two stepdaughters, Cathy (Pastor Lynn) Rogers of Knoxville and Nancy (Robert) Rowan of Knoxville, three sisters, Janet (John) Wheeler of Kearney, Carolyn (Raymond) Woods of Braymer, and Wilma Gardner of Richmond, seven grandchildren, ten step grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and step great grandchildren, and her beloved dogs, Pee Wee and Maddie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Kenna Kay Milligan, and two sisters, Betty Wellman and Martha Bowlen.
Marilyn was reared and educated in Norborne and graduated from Norborne High School. Her work history included working for Whitaker Cable in Excelsior Springs, then as an operations tech for Lake City Arsenal from 1981 to 2005 when she retired. She lived in Ray County most of her life. She was a member of the Richmond Christian Union Church. She loved all animals, especially her dogs. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds. She was truly a nice person who enjoyed taking care of people. She also liked going to the lake. The one thing she did not like was flying.
The family humbly suggest memorial contributions be made to the donor’s choice. Memorial contributions can dropped off or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home 507 E. Main St. – P.O. Box 190 Richmond, MO, 64085.
Funeral services with visitation will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens.
