Sarah Crowder Kimbrell, my 2nd great grandmother, was born near Kingston in Roane County, Tennessee, 13 June 1799. She was named for her mother, Sarah Crowder (1778-1815). She married Matthias Parr in Kingston, Roane, Tennessee, 20 Feb 1819. They were the parents of Nancy Kimbrell Parr, (1819-1903) Rebecca Hale Parr, (1822-1849) Moses Howard Parr, (1823-1902) and Isaac Barton Parr, (1830-1898). The family migrated to Indiana by 1830 and lived in Johnson County till about 1850. Sarah & Matthias along with Sarah's father, Peterson Kimbrell, Peterson's second wife Rebecca Howard Lewis and additional family members migrated to Jasper County, Illinois. Sarah, Matthias, Peterson, Rebecca and about 50 family members are interred in Brockville Cemetery. James Savannah Manning married Rachel Lewis Kimbrell (1816-1879) the daughter of Peterson Kimbrell and Rebecca Howard Lewis, and many Manning family members lived and died in the area. Sarah's father in law, John Parr's daughter, Mary Parr, (1806-1876) married Abraham Jones (1796-1850) and many Jones family members also lived and died in the area. Summarizing, Parr, Jones, Kimbrell, Manning and others are related.
