WILLIAM HOYT FAIRCHILD was born in Sparta, Livingston, New York Mar1847(per census 1855,1865) the last child of 11 (5th male) of John Frederick Backus Fairchild 1800-1869 and Sarah "Sally" Hoyt 1803-1857.

Ellen Sophrania died 23 May 1903 at age 50. She was buried at Chestnut Hill Cemetery ,Portville, Cattaraugus County, New York.
On Family Search, he married Grace E Jones on 10 Apr 1907. They had William Sylvester in 1911.
He died 14 May 1926 in Hollywood, Broward, Florida, USA. He was buried in Riverside Cemetery, New York with his 1st wife.
