Union-News (Springfield, MA) - Monday, March 6, 1995

Thomas S. Ahearn, 74, of 1067 Burts Pit Road, a 32-year mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office , died Saturday in the Veterans Administration Medical Center. He retired in 1982. He was a lifelong resident. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, and was a member of the Michael F. Curtin Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8006 of Florence, a past member of the World War II Veterans Club, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. His wife, Phyllis M. (Vachelli) Ahearn, died in 1982. He leaves two sons, Neil T. of the Florence section, and Brian S. of Hatfield; a daughter, Noreen Mickiewicz of the Florence section; a sister, Helen Corrigan of Northampton; and three granddaughters. The funeral will be Wednesday morning from the John F. O'Connell Funeral Home, and in St. Mary's Church, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday late afternoon, early evening.
