Services for Ira "Chuck" Waits, 84, formerly of Danville, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Tim Russ. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
He died Sunday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Lexington. Born July 20, 1915, in Boyle County, he was a son of the late Luther and Mary Chambers Waits. He was a construction worker and worked in maintenance at Jeffersonville Powder Plant. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Chambers of Danville; and a brother, Edwin Waits of Danville.
Pallbearers will be R.C. Greene, Bob Grubbs, Edward and Everett Hinkle, Harold Lawson and Charlie Greene.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.

Charles Ellis, he being the officiating minister. The attendants were Hartford, Robert and Alvin Waits of Lexington, Misses Jeanette Nevius and Elizabeth Waits, Mrs. Waits was a sophomore this year in the Perryville High school. Mr. Waits is an industrious farmer. For the present they will make their home with his mother here. They have many friends who wish them lots of happiness and success.
