Mrs. Annie Margery Davis Nelms, 85, of 4021 Charleston Augusta Road, Bamberg, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, in Bamberg. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Cooner Funeral Home in Bamberg. Mrs. Nelms was born July 9, 1916, a daughter of the late Willie Collins Davis and Laura Frances Hooker Davis. She was married to the late Henry R. Nelms. She was employed with Bamberg Textile Mill for 25 years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crochet and gardening. She was preceded in death by three brothers, William L. Davis of Neeses, Marion Davis of Bamberg and Harold Davis of Winter Park, Fla. Survivors include two daughters, Margie Dianne Nelms of Bamberg and Emily Caroline Hamlin of Ridgecrest, Calif.; one son, Richard Nelms of Savannah, Ga.; three sisters, Lila Mae Davis, Minnie Lou Taylor and Mildred Louise Hoffman, all of Bamberg; one brother, Joe Morgan Davis of Bamberg; three grandchildren, Erica Danielle Nelms of Lodge, and Jonathan Aston Hamlin and Kyle Murray Hamlin, both of Ridgecrest, Calif.; 23 nieces and nephews.
