Funeral services for Ada Irene Boyett, 88, will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to service time. Officiating the service will be Brother Mike Hawkins of Salem Baptist Church in Stonewall.

Irene was born on September 5, 1932 to Hebern C. Tanner and Florell Hildreth Tanner in Brewton, Alabama and passed away, Monday, March 1, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Irene was a resident of Stonewall and worked for AT&T for 18 years as a line worker before retiring. She loved gardening, particularly taking care of her flowers. She loved to play Bunko. She was a people person and loved anything to do with visiting with friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Millard Dean Boyett, Sr.; sons, Danny Ray Boyett, Charles Wayne Boyett; grandson, Josh Boyett; and brother, Charles Tanner. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Rita Brown and husband, James of Stonewall; sons, Millard Boyett and wife, Dana of Jamestown, LA, Dennis Boyett and wife, Robbie of Stonewall, Larry Boyett and wife, Jerri of Stonewall; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who loved their “Nanny.”
