Willard Garey
   Willard L. Garey, 96, formerly of Lehman, died Thursday at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas.
   Born in Idetown, November 16, 1907, he was a son of the late Hale and Audrey (Ide) Garey. He was a graduate of the Shavertown High School. He had served with the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II, in Guadalcanal and Okinawa.
   Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated Willard L. Garey Construction Company. Throughout his career as a custom builder he had built new and remodeled numerous retail properties. Mr. Garey was the eldest member of the Lehman United Methodist Church. He was a member of the hem Temple, AAONMS, the George M. Dallas Lodge, F. & A.M. and was a life member of the American Legion, Dallas.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Staub Garey in 1984; and by a brother, James Garey.
   Surviving are daughter, Mary Beth Farrell, Lehman; grandchildren, Erin Garey Brady and her husband, Jeffrey Day of Pennington, N.J.; and Sean M. Brady and his wife, Karen White of Portland, Ore.; great-grandchildren, Quinlan and Phoebe Brady Day; several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday from the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, 140 N. Main Street, Shavertown, with Rev. Nancy Russell officiating. Interment will be in Idetown Cemetery, Idetown.
   Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Community Care, 385 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, PA 18704 or to the Meadows Nursing Center, 55 W. Center Hill Road, Dallas, PA 18612.
