Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Navy and received an Honorable Discharge for services rendered to his country. For many years, Wayne served the Lord as a pastor and minister of the Gospel. One of his greatest joys was sharing God’s Word with other people. He also enjoyed being a substitute teacher for Moore Public Schools. His hobbies included watching football, and he was a big OU Sooners and Denver Broncos fan. He was a very kind-hearted and loving man and he will be deeply missed.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Mary Hathway Burtcher; children, Jacquelyn Blanco and husband, Rodney, Carolyn Motley and husband, Will, Cari Russell, Kelly Burroughs, Stephen Burtcher and wife, Diane, and Denise Cobbs; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Burtcher and wife, Sandra; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Burtcher; brother, Don Burtcher; and sister, Melba Hill.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM, Thursday, March 4, 2021, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, Oklahoma. Funeral Services for Wayne will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 5, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Lexington, located at 900 E. Broadway Street, in Lexington, Oklahoma. Interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N. Midwest Blvd., in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.
