William Dwight Jackson died Sunday in Stroud. He was 81. He was born March 14, 1918, in Reed Springs, Mo., the son of William Andrew and Estella (Sutton) Jackson.

He had been a resident of Stroud since January 1990. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stroud and worked as a salesman. He married Lavona Brooks in Wichita, Kan., Nov. 26, 1957.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are his wife, Lavona of the home; three daughters; two stepsons; two stepdaughters; one brother; one sister; eighteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Stroud with the Rev. Burl Mackey officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Dale Cemetery in Depew, Okla., under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Stroud.{published in the Shawnee News Star December 21 1999}
