Many years ago, Ruth's husband Wayne, told me Ruth's birth name and that she was born a Kaminski in Hamtramck, Wayne Co., Michigan. He said her parents were Barney Kaminski and Mary Radtke, and gave me exact spellings of their names. I've searched for many years and these are the only people matching these names in Hamtramck. The father 's original name was Bronislaw and Bruno is on his headstone but I found a census for the family where his name was listed as Barney. Mary's maiden name is listed as Radtke but her father and brothers all spelled the name differently as often surnames were written according to how they sounded with their particular accent.
I'm still doing research. While acknowledging the Kaminski name, Ruth used a different maiden name and I'm trying to determine where that name came from as well as other facts from her linage.
Ruth's brother Ray (#218549226) was adopted by James and Mary Hill.
