Additional information was found in the local history book "Echoes of Coteau" (1981). Mahala Wilson was reported to be 93 years old at the time of her passing. In the local history book "Along a Prairie Trail" (1981) the contributor noted that "Mrs. Wilson was a wonderful woman who saved many lives, working as a mid-wife" (p. 259).
