Enjoyed dancing, crocheting and knitting
Carol F. Sitler, 69, of Berwick passed away on Dec. 31, 2020, at Bloomsburg Rehab Center.
Born in Berwick on June 20, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Ada (Seltzer) Bednarski. She was a graduate of Berwick High School and lived in the Berwick area for most of her life.
Carol was employed in housekeeping at several places over the years, including Bloomsburg University and the Columbia County Courthouse. She also worked at Berwick Knitwear and as a crossing guard. She volunteered her time as a candy striper.
Most recently, Carol attended Bethany United Methodist Church in Berwick with her late husband, Steve. She also attended many affairs at the Elks, Berwick, where she and her husband were involved, and she enjoyed playing bingo. She was a member of the Berwick YMCA Silver Sneakers and volunteered with Relay for Life as a breast cancer survivor, a title she was proud of for many years. She loved to dance, and she liked to crochet and knit. Carol was a Berwick Bulldog fan and enjoyed Penn State football games and watching basketball, as well as other sports, on TV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Austin "Steve" Sitler, who passed away in 2019; her stepmother, Constance "Connie" (Drumheller) Bednarski; brothers, David and Gerard Bednarski; and a nephew, Joseph.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Sandy Reeder, Berwick, Shelly Shoemaker Stackhouse, Bloomsburg; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several extended family members and friends.
Due to COVID restrictions, no services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
