Verdan D. Lease, age 95, of Findlay, died at 5:55am on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at the Fox Run Assisted Living in Findlay. He was born on July 8, 1925, in Arlington, Ohio, to the late Daniel and Lydia (Rettig) Lease. On September 24, 1949, he married Marcella Rozelle and she survives. Also surviving are a son, Devon (Carol) Lease of rural Findlay; daughter: Deanna (Michael) Heffner of Westfield, Indiana; grandson, Greg (Jackie) Orwick; great grandchildren: Zachary and Emily Orwick. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Andrew and Nicholas Lease; three brothers: Gerald, Paul, and Carl Lease. Verdan worked as an airplane mechanic for over 30 years, at the Findlay Airport, retiring in 1990. He had proudly served in the Army Air Force during World War II having worked on the B-17's and B-29's. He had the pleasure of being a part of the Honor Flight in 2012. He was a member of Journey at Christ Church in Findlay. He enjoyed woodworking, working on airplanes and was proud of the 1960 Studebaker Hawk that he restored. He was self taught in music, photography, clock and watch repair, gunsmithing, but without question his number one love was his family. A private funeral service for the family will be held at CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Arlington, with Pastor Trevor Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Bishop Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. Memorials may be made to either the Honor Flight, P.O.
