She was born in a log cabin on Aug. 31, 1914, near Ava, Mo., to Frank and Nellie (Rosseau) Bricker.
She grew up in LaCygne and lived at Paola.
She graduated from Paola High School in 1932. She graduated from the University of Kansas in 1953.
She enjoyed sewing, painting, crocheting and tending her flowers. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She was a member of First Assembly of God. She taught Sunday school for more than 66 years.
She began teaching in a one-room school. She taught in many rural schools in Franklin and Miami counties for more 40 years. She retired in 1975.
She married Ralph William Coltrane May 8, 1938. They shared more than 52 years of marriage. He preceded her in death April 20, 1990.
Survivors include her children, William Ray Coltrane, and his wife, Vera Lea, Ottawa, Rebecca Jane Wisdom, and her husband, Lloyd, Lawrence, and Mary Margaret Amburgy, and her husband, Randell, Boonville, Ky.; sisters, Ola Benefiel, Walla Walla, Wash., and Mary Rogers, Phoenix, Ariz.; brothers, Joe Bricker, Vancouver, Ore., and Leo Bricker, Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Bricker; a sister, Ivy Heafley; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bushfield, Frances Wiggins and Naomi Bricker.
