Mr. John I. Perry, Jr., 90, died Friday (Feb. 21, 2003) at Louis Smith Memorial Hospital in Lakeland after a brief illness.

He is a native of Sale City, but he has lived most of his life in the Atlanta, GA area and Florida. He was employed as a shipyard mechanic in Jacksonville, FL, and affiliated with the Baptist faith.

He is the son of the late John Isaiah Perry, Sr., and Lyda Maxwell Perry. He is the husband of the late Thelma Agnes Yates Perry.

Mr. Perry is survived by his daughter, Barbara Jean Walker (husband Ben) of San Antonio, TX; four sons, John I. Perry, III (wife Mary) of Waycross, Donald R. Perry of Jacksonville, FL, Bill R. Perry (wife Donna) of Palm Harbor, FL, and David F. Perry (wife Carolyn) of Spring Hill, FL; a sister, Ruth Perry of Cordele; 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted 12 noon Tuesday (Feb. 25, 2003) at Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park, FL. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Music Funeral Home.
